Mr smithI tested this and the Aliante over a week and suffice to say the Antares came out on top. Its firm but comfortable and you can move around to get a decent position. Looks the business as well and. Love the carbon rails. Very light. Great saddle.
TedI already had an Arione R3 Kium, but wanted some bling. So for double the price, I saved 30grams and have a colour that matches slightly better. No regrets. (And I think it is slightly more comfortable than the kium....)
brianGreat saddle super light but just check as it won't fit all seatpost with its oversize carbon rails. It won't fit a trek madone.
RobI have rode the Fizik Arione for years but this is the first Arione R1 I have had. I have to say I'm extremely impressed. It's very well made, classy looking and extremely comfortable. It does take a couple hundred miles though for the padding to soften up. Once it does it's spot on. Would recommend to anyone.
NicolajThis is a really good saddle. Weight is bang on the spec at 166g and the craftmanship is excellent. Coming from Selle Italia SLR, this is slightly heavier but significantly more comfortable. Looks the part as well. The Arione is a rather tall saddle, so you may need to adjust the height of the seatpost.
AntonComfortable race saddle with firm padding. Very little flex in the shell. 300mm long x 132mm wide and is perfect for my bike fit and sit bones. Great for riders that move back and forth on a saddle and ride in a down and forward aggressive position. Lightweight saddle. Main top cover is anti slip. Long carbon rails with a big range of fore and aft adjustment. Reasonably light saddle with a quality build.
Mr BeraFizik seats are the most comfortable for me, love them, R1 is just top class.

I've tested this saddle & bought a custom one for my Summer bike as it works for me & decided to buy a matching saddle for my winter bike from Merlin. Always prefer Merlin over other online retailers because there is a REAL bike shop behind this site, worth thinking about when you buy stuff!
