Mr WheelerMy first front derailleur installation. It is working out very nicely. There is good value within the 105 groupset. I have Ultegra on my other bikes, and this seems to require trimming slightly more often when I am cross-chaining, but it trims and functions very well.

TomThe new R7000 is an outstanding groupset. I have R7000 installed on my road bike and purchased this front derailleur along with a rear derailleur and STI levers to convert my gravel bike to mechanical 11 speed.
The action on the new FD-R7000 combined with 5800 or R7000 shifters is so incredibly light, and the cable routing is much cleaner and more out of the way than in previous generations. The old Ultegra 6600 that it is replacing, while excellent, requires much more force at the lever to shift. In addition to the light and precise shifting action, Shimano also included an adjustment screw to micro adjust the cable tension at the derailleur, eliminating the need for a barrel adjuster along the length of the cable housing. I highly recommend the Shimano R7000 groupset as a whole, especially this front derailleur. I live in the United States, and Merlin Cycles delivered managed to get this to me in a matter of days. Do not hesitate to order from Merlin if you live in the United States!
