Schwalbe Magic Mary Addix Soft Folding Tyre - 27.5"
The favourite among downhill and enduro experts. The perfect choice for virtually any track. Intermediate tread: maximum brake traction and corner grip even on extremely muddy terrain thanks to strong shoulder studs and the aggressive, open tread design.
Addix Soft Compound
Is a compound that bridges many disciplines. It’s just as at home in the enduro and downhill world as it is in the demanding discipline of all-mountain and trail riding. It also impresses when used in combination with other ADDIX tires – more speed: Soft on the front, Speedgrip on the back. Or more damping: Ultra Soft on the front, Soft on the back.

MatthewGreat tyre at an amazing price. These bad girls really do stick in all conditions
JamesGreat tyre. Super grippy.
Mr WatersExcellent grip. Run this as a front tyre with Hans Dampf on rear. You can wang it into a corner and holds the bike well. Tested this combo on the North Yorkshire Moors over techy single track and it performs well. Definitely noticed more drag after changing these as winter tyres, but this is expected. Competitively priced and delivery was prompt.
Mr ChapmanIncreased level of grip is fantastic on the front of my bike
JonathanExcellent, beat UK winter enduro tyre.
S P WGreat do it all front tyre. Great price and teamed up perfectly with Hans Dampf rear.
Mr LindseyProbably a fantastic tyre. Couldn't get it on my Stans rims at home without better leverage and/or high pressure pump (so bought Maxxis which fitted easily). 27.5 x 2.35 weighs more than 1kg but this is a serious looking tyre. I suggest you check rim compatibility but otherwise five stars.
GrahamThese tyres are great. I upgraded from xc tyres and am very happy with these. certainly slower on the climbs but the confidence they give on the downs far outways that.
Mr McCreadieSolid tyre for front. Ben cathro recommended!
Mr WilsonEasily installed as tubeless, initial running impressions are good, bike feels grippier
Mr LeemingThe best front tyre. Period. cracking price from Merlin.
dylanFeels like a good strong tyre that'll last, was simple to get it set up tubeless
Mr LeightonAfter Years of riding the Maxxis DHF in differing compounds and widths I find the Magic Mary to be a superior alternative , superb cornering traction and braking, fast rolling and hard wearing considering the softer compound rubber and significantly cheaper than the Maxxixs DHF
KrisBrilliant front tyre which can be left on all year round
Keith.Works for me. Only tested in dry conditions on the front so far but happy with the grip.
AlexanderQuality product swear by these tyres
PaulThis is a great tyre for all conditions as long as you can live with the rolling resistance. I've run this tyre all year round on the front and it's good in wet, slippery situations but also grips in dry dusty conditions. 5 stars from me!
Mr BeeverReally impressed with grip and feel on different terrain
SamGreat tire, very grippy.
LoneStarI have two rides in with this tire and now I'm wondering why I slid around on XC tires so long! Came pretty much as advertised. Lighter than posted on the Merlin site, but heavier than the manufacturer's site. That said...the weight is worth it. Just incredible grip and I didn't notice it being as draggy as I thought it would be. I've certainly felt worse. Have this on front paired with a Nobby Nic in the back and I'm very pleased.
Mr NorrisMagic Marys are fantastic. I tried them out on the front of one bike and have now put it on the front of all my bikes. They are super grippy and give me confidence that the front end will hold.
MarkBest mtb tyre out there, if you get a puncture running one of these you`re very unlucky
VanceI love this tire in the decomposed granite that we have in Colorado. It hooks up to anything. There might be a bit of rolling resistance but well worth it when bombing down a hill full of gnar. It also grabbed everything thrown at it in Moab. Never going back to Maaxis.
Mr OveryGreat front tyre for all year riding
Mr FitzGibbonA new purchase not having had a magic Mary before. So far so good in mud, over gravel and grass. Sidewall lugs look just right for aggressive front tyre requirements
RobertGreat in 1" deep winter mud. Clears well. Draggy on the road but who cares?
Mr CabrerasI like it more than MDH, good traction, low rolling resistance, no complaints
JordanGreat Tyres in the wet and the dry, nice firm sidewall so you can run lower pressure and avoid the sidewall folding on the harsher impacts
Mr LofthouseGreat front tire for mixed conditions
NicholasThe best tires out there. Excellent tread for a wide variety of conditions, ranging from wet to dry, and everything in-between. Obviously not the best rolling ever, but you aren't buying these for that. For what they are, they pedal quite well and I run them front and rear on my enduro rig. Great traction in all conditions, especially shining in steep/loose/wet. Schwalbe for life.
Mr HobsonAwesome tyre! Super grippy
Mr shepherdHad just put this tyre on before doing 85 km ole ghost trail west coast of S.I NZ, it performed outstanding, it grippped on all types of terrain superbly gave me more confidence which has been lacking with other tyres of late
AdrianBought fpr gloopy muddy conditions. All good so far, confidence inspiring in the corners
Mr HobletI've been riding Magic Marys for two years now and this new compound is just as good, if not better. Can't say anything bad about them.
TWGreat tyre for front winter use loads of confidence inspiring grip when pushing hard. The new Addix compound seems to work well but haven't had it long enough to comment on its durability. Easy fitting with tube bit more rolling resistance than the summer Racing Ralph that it replaced but considering the amount of grip you get its worth the extra effort.
ChrisBought this as a winter front tyre. Think it will stay on all year though. Very confidence inspiring over wet roots and everywhere else. Think it makes a perfect front tyre.
CraigExcellent all rounder - now even grippier and better wearing than before!
JohnI've only done two rides since fitting this tyre to the front both in unusually dry conditions mostly on compacted gravel trail and single track with tree roots, and smallish often polished rocks with dry mud. So not particularly demanding conditions. However I have been more than satisfied with the grip available I really felt confident about the front end it felt like the grip would go on forever. I had a Slaughter on the rear and the bike really seemed to fly on the combination I did not feel that I was being held back by big tread of the Magic Mary on the front. I'm not looking forward to the muddy conditions to come this winter but I do look forward to trying them with this tyre. On the basis of my ride so far I would definitely recommend them.
