SKS Speedrocker Gravel Road Mudguard Set - 700c
The SKS Speedrocker has been specifically developed for compatibility with gravel and adventure bikes, cyclocross bikes and road bikes with tyres exceeding 32mm. The Speedrocker offers incredible stability over the roughest tracks while also providing optimum protection in all weathers.
At the front, protection is enhanced with a new dual-height front spoiler, which deflects water and mud onto the wheel and downwards, away from the rider’s face. The rear mudguard utilises an innovative telescopic extension for greater coverage near the seat tube, and everything is held firmly in place with an all-new rubber fastening system to suit a multitude of frame designs, including integrated recesses for brake or gear cables as required.
The Speedrocker also showcases an update to SKS’s stay design, the ESC Vario Safety System. The sturdy but lightweight black anodised aluminium stays have been designed wider than normal, to run over the top of the mudguard, and covered by a protective plate. This not only gives the Speedrocker a sleek overall appearance but also maximises the available clearance between the tyre and mudguard.

MrFrankEasy to fit, look good. Front guard has a habit of moving which I feel is down to the fitment method. The manufacturer claim they can’t improve on this as it compromises safety. None the less they work well and keep the majority of mess away in poor conditions
StuartFiddly and time consuming to install. They do work however once properly in place.
Mr GodsellThis is a great set of mudguards. A bit of faff to fit but take your time and once done they give excellent coverage and no rattle of movement. A breeze to remove and refit after the initial set up.
KReally impressed with these. Fitting instructions are a little Ikea like. However im dry and even crashes and they didn't budge.
Mr DargiVery good piece of kit. Easy to install and good coverage
PhillBought for a Specialized Diverge. Finding mudguards that fit is a nightmare. This was the best set with right clearances. However, still need to take a hack saw to rear mudgard. This set at least work with bikes with disc brakes. Merlin again delivered great service - had these in stock when no-one else did and quick delivery.
Scott GrozierTo not owning mudguards previous I didn't know what to expect however I love using these and they're quick and easy to attach to the bike without it being a pain , just strap them onto the forks and stays and away you go , perfect for a bit of fun in puddles and muddy trails
Mr MillsThese are easy to fit with good clearance., and feel robust when on the bike, easy to put on and take off. I've had other SKS products...i wouldn't say the picture instructions are the clearest...but I got there. Use them once and so far...really good. There is some frame protectors supplied but not enough to protect all contact points. Would be nice if supplied with a couple of extra Velcro straps and silicon straps...just in case. However, I would highly recommend!
JulianGreat product, easy to fit , three extremely wet, muddy rides on the gravel bike and the difference is tremendous not scraping the mud off my clothes !!
Mr StevensonMuch better than Raceblades
ArnoI struggled to find mudguards that would fit over my 40mm tyres. These do. Catch most of the crud. as good as full on mudguards but better than nothing. Slightly puzzled by the different attachment systems front and back (velcro straps at the fron, rubber bands at the back), but pretty solid: no rattling or rubbing on the tyre over heavily pot-holed trails
Mr peachexcellent solution for Cannondale Topstone
Mr GeeThese fit great, look good (as good as muguards do) and do the job well. They are well designed and relatively simple to fit.
Mr MorrisSuperb service from Merlin. I found exactly what I needed from their website and easily ordered my Gravel bike mudguards. They arrived promptly and are just the job . Very good service .
Mrs McGoldrickBeen using the mudguards for a couple of weeks on my new gravel bike and have to say they've been brilliant so far!! Have had them out on some pretty muddy trails too so very impressed. They look great too, very neat.
Mr StephensPerfect for the gravel bike and detachable for summer... Simple to fit. I've added reflective strips for extra safety.
NiklausGreat fit on my Orro Terra, lots of adjustability. First fitting takes a bit of head scratching but all makes sense. First ride in slop was excellent, they work very well.
DeclanWow these are amazing, sturdy, rattle free , easy fit great quality
JacoThe mudguards are easy to mount and remove and they stay in place once mounted. They work very well when the conditions become less than ideal.
PeterGreat mudguards. Easy to fit and look the part
PiotrGreat mudguards . Bought for marin presidio 3 after I changed tyres to 42 size and had not much clearance between tyre and front forks and wanted something which will fit and look good . Done no mistake this mudguards are fantastic already tried in heavy rain and went back home less soaked than last time no muddy splash on my back anymore
Mr BaricanosaI haven't always had a good experience with SKS. Their Race Blade Long Mk1 was awful. I'm pleased to say the SKS Speedrocker's are fully fit for purpose. They are a solid build that only take a moment to set up. It's not going to protect the person in behind you, but that's not the idea. What it does deliver is protection for you and your bike in one sturdy product. I've kept mine on the winter bike since August 2019 and it hasn't failed me once. The only fault, which is more of a compatibility issue, is that the front-spoiler cannot match the height of the front mudguard on my Cotic Road Rat. It's a shame, but as a result it remains off the bike. At the time I paid the full price of £43, but if they're out of stock, it's because it does do a fine job and is currently on a good price. Happy riding!
Mr LeeEasy to install on my gravel bike. Great mudguards and keeps the splash out of my face.
Mr FowlerGreat to finally have mudguards that fit on a cross bike (which doubles as a commuter bike). Fitting is straightforward although I did have to shorten the front stays to improve the fit on the PlantX. Overall very solid and stable mudguards. May fit an after market extender at some point
Mr BrayanovEasy to install and use...
Mr LeeBrilliant easy to take on and off but give full coverage and seem very stable on the bike
Mr RaymondVery easy to fit and secure on my caadx 105.the best mudguards I have used.
Mr BondSuper easy to fit! Instructions in the box are a bit rubbish so it’s easier to ignore and fit as seen on images. They have done the job very well so far and that’s been with use through Storm Dennis...for my sins
KenG in CoMOThese are the best clip-on fenders I’ve seen. The attachment clips are particularly solid and well designed. The front fender adds a fair bit of toe-overlap on my bike but still work very well.
Mr ButterfieldA bit fiddly to install but work great. No movement after rough road ride installed on my partner's Trek Checkpoint. Slight issue (rubber retention band intended to secure the end of rear fender to seat tube was too short, so I exchanged for one of the velcro straps after cutting a second slot in the fender). I'd also have preferred the back fender extension to be 10 cm longer so it came down further toward thee BB. There is also no instruction for how/where to use the frame protector strips. However I would recommend this fender type (particularly useful for those who want to be able to easily remove fenders for good weather). Note, I use Crudbuster Roadracer Mk3 on my Checkpoint (work great but slightly too narrow) and these tempt me to switch.
MarkPWEasy to fit and work great on My Open UP with Schwalbe GOne Allaround 38mm. Front top attachment, secured with velcro does slip down a little causing fender to rub on tyre a little. I plan to put a little tape around the fork legs to stop this. Great price and service from Merlin
Mr DicksonExceeded my expectations. Very easy to set up and haven't moved or rattled even over really bumpy ground.
Mr murrayBought 2 sets and fitted to both gravel bikes , very easy to fit / remove tried them for first time and really pleased with them it wasn’t raining but roads were still wet from previous rain and the mudguards kept us dry from road spray , running 38mm tyres and the guards have good cover on them and they actually look good fitted to bike so really pleased overall
RossExcellent mudguards, currently using on Genesis Croix De Fer and they give plenty clearance. Very easy to set up.
TobyVery easy and fast to fit, but seem very secure, not rattling or rubbing. Good price and fast delivery as ever. Cheers Merlin.
Mr ThompsonI just love these mudguards. Have them now on all my gravel bikes, suitable for both 700Cx37 and 650bx47...awesome....Great for the English mud and grime!!
Mr PowellEasy to fit and keep me dry and clean
Mr BucklandEasy to fit & provide great coverage
Mr taylorEasy to fit and don’t seem to slip when on the move
Mr GravelLike all SKS clip on fenders, fiddly to install but once the work is done, they do exactly what they are expected to. I am using these with 40mm Schwalbe G1s on a widish rim, on a bike that only officially permits 40mm tires, and the fenders fit perfectly - one of the only sets on the market that stood a chance of fitting.
RicardoNice and light. Almost as good as full fenders except these are much faster to install and remove
Mr DowsingThese mudguards are very good, once installed (which takes a bit of time) they are very stable and don't rattle or make any noise. They also look good on the bike very stylish. My only beef would be the front section which covers the top of the front wheel is a bit short, I still get spray from the front wheel coming over it.
PeterFits perfectly on a Topstone 105, removal and install is quick and easy once the screws are set.
