The ASTR brings all the features of the ASTR RS to an affordable price point: from aerodynamic improvements to modern gravel geometry.
The ASTR is ready for every fast ride or gravel race on every type of terrain. Just like the ASTR RS, the ASTR has a tire clearance of 47 - 52 mm (52 millimeters with a 1x setup and 47 millimeters with a 2x setup) for increased grip and comfort.
Modern performance geometry also requires more stability due to increasingly rough terrain combined with higher speeds. A 71.5-degree headtube angle ensures you have faster steering. The ASTR features a steeper seat tube (74 degrees), making climbing performance and power transfer better than with a less steep seat tube.
The product developers kept the chainstays as short as possible to accommodate tyres up to 52 millimetres without losing the feeling of responsiveness when accelerating. In addition, the bottom bracket is a bit lower than on bikes that bet on comfort. This ensures you have more stability at high speed. Finally, the head height is lower, so you sit more aerodynamically on the bike. In summary, this boils down to a modern competitive geometry, tailored for the ambitious gravel racer.
With the addition of the ASTR to the lineup, Ridley underscores its ambition to offer everyone the chance to own an ASTR: from ambitious amateurs to the most dedicated pros.

The Astr family has a tyre clearance of 52 millimetres on a 1x setup and 47 millimetres on a 2x setup. Our product developers took this decision because the race terrain is getting rougher and riders feel the need to be armed for this. With this, we confirm our role as a trendsetter in the gravel segment.

Just like the Astr RS, the Astr is also built according to the 'aero-to-weight' principle. The aero-to-weight principle is the trend in the cycling peloton. Ridley no longer makes riders choose between aerodynamics and weight but combines the best of both worlds.
The only difference is that we opt for a different carbon composition with a slight variation in weight, a round seatpost, and the Cirrus Pro Integrated gravel cockpit. After all, Ridley's goal is to give everyone the opportunity to purchase an ASTR: from the ambitious amateur to the most dedicated professional.
The universal derailleur hanger (UDH) is the new standard in the cycling world. Not only is this derailleur hanger compatible with all modern shifting groups, it also protects against derailleur breakage and chain drops. In mountain biking, UDH has long been very common, and Ridley is bringing the technology to other segments as well.
Our innovative removable front derailleur clamp ensures a sleek, streamlined appearance when using a 1x setup. In collaboration with Wolf Tooth, we’ve developed a custom chainguide and chain catcher perfectly tailored to fit our frames. To maintain a clean and polished look, we’ve also designed a specialized cover to seamlessly replace the clamp when it’s not in use.
The fork crown has an integrated diffuser to reduce drag. The airflow passes more easily through fork crown while extra energy is added to it. The result is that the airflow passes the downtube more easily without pushing the bike back. At the same time there is less drag in the area behind the fork and headtube.
Less resistance, more speed!
