MarkTypical Hope quality, delivered quickly from stock by Merlin for a good price. Fingers crossed this cures the creaking ive experienced with othe pressfit BBs. Cant fault the service so far but this score doesn't reflect long term reliability
christopherQuality machined, engineered bottom bracket . Great price from Merlin which is a bonus
R.S.Fitted as an upgrade on my Trek Emonda, superb, no more noise from the pressfit bearings!
Mr SWell engineered, no more creacking. Compared to carbon frames with a bonded alloy shell and BSA threads it offers similar mechanical benefits in a PF frame, keeping the bearing cups solidly in line.
Mr FlavellLooks good and bearings feel great. Time will tell how it wears but quality product so should last.
RodrigoA bb that seems to match the robustness this piece deserves, compared to Shimano PF BB at least.
Mr WhadcoatWorth every penny! Easy to fit and you notice the improvement straight away. I kept putting myself off buying this due to the cost compared the a standard bb but wish i would have got it sooner
PaulBrilliant piece of kit. Easily the best designed press pit bottom bracket from a mechanical perspective. Screws together to provide mechanical strength without subjecting a close tolerance outer shell to rotating forces
StephenThe bottom bracket is well made as you come to expect from Hope. Fitting of the bottom bracket is more complicated than it needs to be. The tube through the centre screws together which means that you either need a Hope bottom bracket tool or a 25mm Allen key to fit it, both of which are expensive. I managed to buy a basic tool on eBay to get it fitted in the end. You then need to fit the bearing into the cup. This seems over-complicated, time consuming and expensive compared to the Shimano (or Hope standard bottom bracket) where a tube with a rubber seal at each end presses into the bearing cups. Hopefully the bottom bracket will last a long time and I suspect that the bearings can be replaced without removing the cups from the frame when they do wear out;
BurttyIn true Hope fashion, a well made, well supported product. Also upgradeable if I wanted to convert to ceramic. Good clear instructions supplied. (As with most bike components specific tools are required for fitting and removal)
CossiePhilSuper impressed with the quality and finish!!
MarkSo far so good. I have been able to get rid of my creaking SRAM BB by swapping over to this. The fact that it is threaded no doubt helps.
Mr BarronEasy to fit. The ride now feels silky smooth.
GiustinoFinally a creak-free solution for the PF BB!
RPQuality has a price and this BB from Hope is worth it! Already bought 2 of these for my bikes. They're miles away from Shimano plastic BB...
TurnerReplaced noisy shimano press fit easy to fit and now smooth and quiet.
FraserBought a Hope press fit bottom bracket, in an effort to cure endless squeaks/creaks from existing the BB86 bottom bracket on my road bike. Yes its heavier and more expensive than plastic shelled equivalents, but its smooth, absolutely silent and much better built than both previous BB's I've had on the bike. Highly recommended.
JKTop quality product by Hope. Fitting was very easy, when using the Hope PF41 Press Fit Bottom Bracket Installation Tool. Online video by Hope and supplied instructions made fitting very easy.
Mr CrossFirst experience of a Hope Bottom Bracket&. and I was not disappointed. Easy to fit and drips with Hope Quality. 10/10
MikeHad a few shimano press-fit BB's and they dont last very long. With Hope you pay more but just change the bearings when worn out. The quality is first rate with stainless steel cartridge bearings as standard.
Mr CarmonaQuality and british engineering at its best. Initially I had a Shimano XTR press fit BB but then decided to upgrade and spend considerably more on this one. However straight away it looks much better, more refined and robust since it is all metalic and not plastic as the Shimano. Yes, it is heavier but it's worth it since it was designed for british weather. The main advantage is that after you will only need to replace the bearings and not the whole thing and so you start to make money back. Good design and detail, even the plastic box where it comes is well designed. Also got 10% off from Merlin so I'm really happy.
KornmanUpgraded my existing plastic shelled press fit BB92 by shimano. Which probably only lasted a season of hard riding before it started feeling horrible. Straight away just looking at it you can tell this was an upgrade.
Aluminum cups with the screw on center tube to internally connect the two outer cups. Nice and smooth bearings that are replaceable! So you don't have to remove the cups later on, just replace the bearings. I also bought the install tool which made it super easy to install and will be used later on when it comes to install new bearings. Ive had a few rides on it now and the cranks spin so smooth compared to before. And I'm expecting that Hope reliability that they are known for. Recommend this upgrade to anyone with a horrible press fit BB!
Mr MooreReplacement for Shimano press fit. Well made with replaceable stainless bearings
Mr PlattSuperb , infinitely better than SRAM previously fitted. Does need the appropriate Hope tool to fit so expensive up front purchase but long term I'm sure it will prove a wise purchase
