SimonAfter riding with GP1’s for years and loving them I had a shot on a friends bike who had these and an hour after I had tried them they were on order. A quick delivery from Merlin and I now have an even more comfortable commute. Great product, who cares about the price for comfort 😊
MandalisPut them on my trekking bike. The grip is good and comfortable, giving you the sense of gaining more power in the ascending.
Mr MayMy third pair of these grips which offer a considerable range of positions. I now use them pointing down to give a more aero drop. A terrific price from Merlin.
Mr GrantEasy to fit and very comfortable. Bought to help reduce strain on my daily commute to work. Allows multiple hand positions.
Miss WarrenA very comfortable grip, very solid. Would definitely recommend.
Mr KincaidBeing a commuter for over 18 months with a commute of 26 miles round trip, I have continually been upgrading my hybrid bike to better suit my needs. A hybrid suits me as my journey is totally on a towpath and cycle footpath. Out of all the upgrades I have purchased the Ergon GP5 Grips are by far the best so far in regards to the difference they have made to my cycle. I traveled home last night and found 5 different hand positions (in your face drop handlebars) the best of which is the little pad which acts as a shock absorber to the hand, no numbness, no discomfort and loads of different positions to grab. All in all an excellent addition. Ps. Swift and excellent delivery service from Merlin Cycles.
Mr WattsGreat service from Merlin. Ordered one evening, dispatched next day, delivered the following day.
I was not sure about size. As a previous reviewer, my hand size is exaxtly a medium, so following his review, I ordered a large.
Size is spot on with no gloves, or lightweight summer gloves. However, with thicker winter gloves they are a bit chunky.
Fitting was a doddle following the instructions, with only a couple of minor adjustments after a few miles shake-down run.
Certainly relieves tension in the wrists. The bar ends are an ideal size for gripping hard on hill climbing.
As a bonus, they look good!
nemasusSolid build and reliable after installation but bit heavy on light handlebars for daily commute on city roads. Saying that they are ideal for long rides on clear country lanes.
Mr CurtisI was starting to get a bit of numbness in my hands on long rides. I done a bit of research and found this may be alleviated by buying some ergonomic grips. After looking online at various types of handgrips I decided to buy a pair of the Ergon GP5. Since replacing my old grips with these I have not had any numbness on rides whatsoever so I am extremely happy with my purchase
Mr StaveleyThis item is exactly as described, fitted perfectly and has a high quality feel to it. As claimed they greatly relieve the pressure on the ball of the hand and the horns on the end give a comfortable change of riding position. Perhaps slightly expensive for bar ends but 'you get what you pay for'. Instructions are clear and easy to follow but are essential reading.
Mr BurnsExtremely comfortable grips very easy to fit and rock solid connection to the handlebars, bought from Merlin Cycles at the best price in the land by a mile, delivered fast and at no charge.
Chuffed to bits.
Mr MooreFirst time I have ordered from Merlin Cycles and I was extremely impressed with the service. Order placed just after midday and was delivered to my front door by 10.15am the following morning, you cant ask for better service than that. The Ergon Bar Ends were exaxtly what I required for my MTB and were easy to fit and has made my cycling much more comfortable for my hands and wrists, a good quality product. I can highly recommend ordering from Merlin Cycles.
HomerProper happy!
AshThese grips fit the palm of your hand perfectly causing very little fatigue, and the adjustable ends can be use for multiple positions. Separately they are the best grips/bar ends I've used but combined they are perfect!
HamI bought these grips to alleviate the numbness that I was beginning to suffer on even short (10 mile) runs. Indication this far is that they work well. Product is very well made and a lot simpler to fit than most grips, as the fitting depends on the clamp at the end, rather than the normal push fit. You do need 140mm of straight bar to fit these, though (the other designs will work on shorter straights) but that shuold not be a problem.
Mr LorimerExcellent product that's well made.
Very comfortable and certainly helps stop your hands going numb after long journeys.
Great for hill climbs.
Highly recommended.
Mr NiemiExcellent piece of equipment, just as expected! Bought the standard length version and cut them to fit my gripshift handle bars - no problem there, the official grip shift version would have been too short for my setup.
Mr Muggridgeexcellent grips. I have small sized hands according to the size chart but bought the large size grips which are very comfy. excellent service from merlin cycles-only took a week to arrive in nz.
Lee from essexAdds alot more comfort to the ride without lose of control which some people say, wont be disapointed
Mr MarksExcellent grip/bar end combination and a good upgrade to the standard ones on my Specialized Sirrus!
Certainly did the job on the London to Brighton BHF ride yesterday!
Merlin delivered fast and efficiently - spot on guys!
