Mr peraltaThe braking point is clearly defined and the maximum power makes it my first choice for my enduro bikes. The Magura MT5 gives me the impression that it has very similar braking to the four-piston Shimano XT, but the price of this MT5 is much lower.
JasonExcellent brakes work really well on my heavy ebike
AndyGood stopping power. Take a bit of time to bed in. Very happy with them be using merlin cycles again. delivery was quick
IoannisReally like the feeling on these, and their power is great no matter how steep! I had to do a few bleeds before I could pin down all the tricks to get them completely air free, but should be easy from now on.
Mr EgliWorks perfectly, easy to set up and really nice modular feel. Well worth the price.
ArunanSlightly disappointed with these . Found the setup a bit tricky as the lever feel was spongy, though it improved after a bubble bleed. The bleed screw is plastic and rounds off super easy. Sure it will improve as I get it dialled
Johno LyonsFantastic value for money, great brakes with insane power and modulation, Highly recommended.
WillFirst off by far the best price I found including free shipping to the USA. I decided it was time to try new brakes. I currently use Shimano M8000. The easy of installation (including single levers) was super easy. Easy to shorten the hoses and they provide extra barrels. You will need to purchase a bleed kit, even being careful air makes into the lines. As for the brakes, absolutely love both the power and the modulation you get. Based off a few other Internet reviews long term reliability should be good
Mr SuijdendorpAn excellent upgrade to the base level Shimano brakes they replaced. Easy to fit and simple to shorten the hoses. A much needed upgrade to braking power and modulation. Nice to have spare barbs and olives included to assist the hose shortening.
ShimonI installed it on my ebike, good braking power, I did not have to shorten the hose so installation was easy. I had a little space issue with the lever, I could not put it right next to the gear lever.
Fast delivery, good packing.
BryceEasy to install. Easy to bleed once you know how. Like how the lever can be set up left or right hand. Nice feel at the bite point, not spongy at all, just solid. Haven`t used off road yet, but after a couple of runs down a small hill on the road to break in the power really started to come on. The forks would compress right down and Tyre felt like it was trying to bury itself into the road. Finally it appears to be a well built quality bit of kit (time will tell).
Mr ChamberlayneI bought the MT5 as an upgrade to a mechanical caliper for use on a disability tricycle. My lack of strength had been making stopping difficult, but the 4 pot caliper on the MT5 has improved the situation immensely.
The unit arrived ready to go, with no bleeding required. Once the spacer pegs had been removed the caliper was easy to fit, and was working after only a couple of pumps on the lever..
So far it seems like excellent value for money.
Mr SCOTTGood strong brake with loads of modulation compared to the br-m615 it replaced
