Santini
Italian cycle clothing manufacturer Santini is one of the most iconic brands in cycling; that’s not just for clothing but cycling in general. Starting in the 1960’s they quickly moved from producing clothing for other companies to focus solely on cycle clothing and have never looked back. They now produce a vast range of garments to suit all abilities and budgets using the latest materials and design processes whilst keeping an eye on style, they are Italian after all!
Constant innovation has kept them at the forefront of cycle clothing technology through the years.
They were one of the first to introduce Lycra into bibshorts in the 1970’s as well as the synthetic antibacterial chamois (the padded bit in cycling shorts) we all now take for granted (until then the shorts were made of wool and the chamois leather). Introducing revolutionary new materials such as Nylon and Windstopper fabrics into their garments in the 1980’s again made cyclist’s lives easier and now they are again leading the way in chamois technology and application.
Santini have supplied many professional cycling teams and federations over the years including the legendary Peugeot and La Vie Claire teams in the 1970-80’s. They have been jersey sponsor of the Tour of Italy since 1993 and long time suppliers to the Italian and Australian national squad. The demands of these top level competitors provide invaluable feedback and helps development of new products for all levels of cyclists.
