Trying out a tubeless bike set up!

Rob in our marketing department recently took a weekend trip to Scotland on his new full suspension bike. Recently returning to the world of mountain biking, he decided it was time to swap his tubes for a tubeless set up!

Rob opted for a set of Continental Tubeless Ready Tyres, Muc-Off No Puncture Tubeless Sealant, Muc-Off Tubeless Rim Tape and Muc-Off Tubeless Valve Kit.

All of Muc-Off’s kit is very easy to get the hang of and comes with a full list of instructions detailing how much sealant is required. Not to mention it looks pretty swanky, they really do put a lot of attention to detail into their range! With the tyres and tubes removed, Rob added his rim tape and tubeless valves.

Next up, is removing the valve core, with a valve core removal tool, this only took a few seconds. In the sealant goes as per the instructions from Muc-Off!

Valve core now needs to be attached back on to the valve, then it’s time to bring out the trusty track pump. Seating the tyres using the track pump was very easy! No issues with the tyres sealing and with a ‘POP!’ the tubeless set up is ready to go!

Finally, with the wheels back on, it was time to pack up the bike and hit the road for a Scottish Mountain Bike adventure! Let’s find out how it held up…

Rob’s First Ride with the Tubeless Set Up

“I liked how you didn’t have to really think about getting a puncture, the ride and performance of the bike was not compromised whatsoever. Having tested the set up over a full day of trail riding, there was no issues with pressure. I’m very happy I made the switch!”
