I’ve been testing the Kask Protone Icon WG11 Helmet for over a year now so thought it was time to put in a review. From road rides to gravel trails, early morning commutes to all day epics… This helmet has been my go-to choice and for good reason.
It comes available in a variety of colourways featuring a nice gloss finish.
“The Kask Protone Icon WG11 Helmet features the latest technological advances in safety, ventilation, and aerodynamics to make it an icon of road cycling.”
Comfort
The helmet has been perfect in terms of comfort from straight out of the box.
I particularly like how easy the helmet is to adjust when on your head to get that perfect snug fit. The rubber dial is very easy to use and the neck support at the back is very comfortable.
Weight
The Kask Protone Icon has a pleasant light weight to it which is always welcomed when I pick it up for any Road or Gravel ride.
It feels light and stable when in use and a size medium weighs in at just 250 grams.
Features
Like all Kask helmets, the Protone Icon has been developed in accordance with the Kask’s WG11 protocol, an objective, scientific approach to measuring the helmet’s performance against rotational impacts.
The innovative inner strengthening frame offers greater mechanical strength and better compactness. In case of shock, it prevents the helmet from breaking into many pieces, allowing greater safety for every rider.
Breathability is excellent with the helmet, throughout the summer I never felt air flow was restricted. You’ll find it has a removable and washable inner padding in Coolmax® material.
Longevity
A year on the helmet is holding up exceptionally well, still as comfy as it was on day one. I’d highly recommend this hardy helmet! If I was to purchase another helmet in the future I would definitely opt for Kask again, they have acquired a loyal customer…
