The Crono Winter CW1 Boot is designed with poor conditions in mind, making it a great option for winter riding. Available in three styles to suit all disciplines of riding.
I used these boots last autumn and winter. Now they’ve now been back out for a couple of months so have certainly seen their fair share of miles in all weathers…
Comfort
The feel of this boot is excellent, I’ve never experienced any pain or strain when on the bike on long weekend winter rides.
Thanks to the adjustable Boa Fit System, they are easy to adjust to suit your foot width and choice of sock thickness. The pull tabs are a fantastic feature which mean you can still get a snug fit without compromise. Easy to get on and off and adjust mid ride, what more convenience could you want from a cycling boot?
Warmth
The CW1 is lined in Primaloft with fleece to contain heat internally and the insole of the boots.
I have always found the boots to be warmth enough when paired with a winter/thermal sock for temps below freezing. Thanks to the lightweight construction the fleece material, the boots don’t feel as heavy or bulky as other boots I’ve tried!
Rain and Weather Protection
The external gaiter is in water-repellent Lycra allowing plenty of cover from the rain and some splashes.
The Primaloft® material ensures a shorter drying time than similar materials, this allows you to have the shoes dried and ready your next ride much quicker. If you want to guarantee dry feet I would suggesting pairing a fully waterproof sock so you are fully covered no matter how many deep puddles or river crossings you venture through.
Value and Functionality
For the price of this winter boot, I would highly recommend it. It’s had great longevity so far, with minimal signs of wear. Plus there’s no damage or issues with the Boa dials, which gives me great confidence. I love how simple it is just to throw these comfortable boots on and not need to worry about attaching any overshoes.
The sleek design of the shoes allows you to easily pair some waterproof trousers over the top without having to struggle like you would with a bulky pair of boots. You’ll notice on the sole there is supported studs, giving maximum mud and debris discharge.
The shoes can be used for any, road riding, mountain biking as well as gravel riding and wet, cold commutes. As mentioned, there is three styles to suit different riders.
Overall, the Crono Winter Boot is a fantastic bit of kit to see you through many winters!
