Since 2001, Stan’s No Tubes have been focussed 100% on tubeless technology. In 2001 they developed a method to replace inner tubes with a liquid sealant to repair punctures instantly. Initially developed for mountain bike riders, tubeless also benefitted from increased traction (lower pressures – no pinch flats), lower weight and more comfort for riders.
Market Leader
Having initially started out essentially making conversion kits for existing (clincher) rims, Stan’s used their hard earned knowledge to produce their own rims and wheelsets. These are explicitly designed for tubeless use from the ground up. Over the following two decades, Stan’s have set entirely new performance standards. While at the same time creating new product categories and redefining what the industry thought was possible.
All Bikes
The benefits of tubeless spread pretty evenly across MTB riding, gravel biking and road riding. This has allowed Stan’s to design and produce products specifically for each segment of bike riding. The 2004 Olympics in Athens saw an athlete riding Stan’s sealant filled tyres on the podium (German mountain bike athlete Sabine Spitz). Since then, tubeless tyre technology has gone from strength to strength, developing into all areas of bike riding at the highest levels. However, more importantly for the rest of us, tubeless has huge popularity amongst everyday riders who don’t like repairing punctures.
The Name to Trust
The Stan’s name has become synonymous with reliable tubeless setups. Each Stan’s product has been rigorously designed and tested to be as reliable and easy to use as possible. From valves to tapes or complete tubeless kits or wheelsets, each product has been well thought out to maximise it’s ease of use and long term performance.
Top Ups & Plugs
Once your bike is happily running tubeless, it is a good idea to top up sealant every few months as it will dry out over time (particularly in warmer weather). Also while tubeless is famed for it’s magical self-healing properties, larger holes and splits in tyres will require a little help with sealing. The Stan’s Dart Tubeless Repair Tool is ideal for these occasions. The darts are designed to react to Stan’s sealant and form an instant airtight seal, even with larger holes.
