We are one person down in the office this week. Occasionally, office staffers can be a little ‘narky’ when this happens, but this week there is good reason. Our customer service superstar, Bex, is getting race ready, preparing in Nice, (Cote D’Azur, France) for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
Nice Work
Bex’s week has been spent getting acclimatized and prepared for the World Championship race which takes place on Saturday morning. The week’s adventures included bumping into Holly Lawrence, 2016 Pro Women’s World Champion (below pic). Holly will be aiming to get the better of Swiss athlete, Daniela Ryf, who has won the World title five years out of the last six.
Nice Route
The bike route is no flat dragstrip, it features the Col De Vence ascent. This is a proper ‘Col’ and has featured in many editions of the Tour De France. The 1367m climb will provide an amazingly scenic backdrop, high above Nice, as the athletes battle for World Champioship honours (see profile below).
At least the 1.9k swim will be warm, with the Mediterenean sea temperatures set fair at around 26 degrees. The 21k run is a flat route along the beautiful Nice Promonade. Should be a very pretty race to watch
Good Luck Bex!
